The Aftertaste

It was like fine dinning, one that takes hours to appreciate and digest. The starters, entree, cocktails, and  desserts were all thoughtfully prepared with love.  You are left with an aftertaste of contentment and comfort. That is the feeling I got thinking back on the wonderful trip I had with her.

We travelled Bali, Indonesia one year ago. Exotic fire dances, talkative  taxi drivers, mischievous " monkeys thieves" were some of the highlights of our summer trip. This year we decided to hit the road  aiming for an opposite experience, so off to the vibrant Autumn in Banff and Jasper it is.

We rode the greyhound bus from Vancouver Main terminal station at  6pm. I was a bit frightened by Greyhound buses due to the " head chopping" incident, but I was soon put to ease by the alert and authoritative drivers, whom can recognize all the passengers' faces. He even managed to catch a penniless guy who tried to sneak on the bus during one of the 10 min rest stops at 3am in the morning. We arrived at Banff station 9am a little noxious, but after a energy boost of apple cider and raspberry scone, we were more than ready to venture this charming town.

Our first stop was the Cascade garden, an enchanting place with antique architect and landscape. We then challenged the lowest peak of Banff, Mt. Tunnel. The view was more stunning then I could have ever asked for. On our way there we even saw a wedding reception held at the Kinnear Center. The couple celebrated their big day with the autumn leaves and snowy mountain as a backdrop. It was like a scene in the movies~

That concludes my highlights of day 1 stay tuned for more entries ~

Feeling Blue without You ~

"One does not know Love , until the time of separation." Today my dear friend flew back to her country. Maybe it is because she spoiled me a bit  too much warmth, gentleness and love, maybe it is because there is a place in my heart that only she can fill, but now that she is gone I am left a little sadden and depressed. Editing photos does help a little to ease the misery  and fill my mind with beautiful memories of our trip in Banff and Jasper.

Miss you already Anthonia~~ see you soon :)

New York New York

It really is a love and hate relationship when it comes to this city. Getting back to the hotel in New Jersey after watching Phantom three years ago, I was spooked by drunks, apathetic polices, and lots of dark allies. The city definitely didn't make the best first impression on me.  But this time because of my lovely friend who decided to married the man of her dreams in NY, I was "forced" to brave through this city again.  I  thought I did it for her, but the lovely bright side finally spoke to me and embraced this lone lost tourist with open arms. I am so glad I took a  second sip of this cup, before pouring it down the drain.

One of the highlight of my trip is touring the Metropolitan Museum.  The Woman and the Seed bible tour captured our attention for 5 whole hours. The battle between good and evil was once again very much alive through the insightful explanation of artifacts from the four ancient world powers.

Our Tour Guide

Two Beautiful sisters who host my lunch at bethel.

The three siblings were chasing a squirrel, much to their mother's dismay.  In central park squirrels are so used to human that they will come up and beg for food.  I love the girl's look of bewilderment.

They are all women, yet their life style is so very different. Although this is not the most wanted job I admire how she carried on her work with dignity.

This is the best raspberry white chocolate mocha that I ever have. It is like a liquid raspberry chocolate mousse cake.  The cafe is called blue spoon.

Staying on the 11th floor of Bossert Hotel :)

General Terminal a magical train station

Congratulations to Ina and Jake
